This easy-to-follow art project takes you step-by-step to create your own sculptures just like modern artist, Alberto Giacometti. Use your imagination to create pieces that represent your favorite sport, hobby, or interest.
Challenge: Go all out and create a whole group of inspiring characters!!
Step 1: Supplies
You’ll need the following:
Aluminum Foil; Cut About 8” x 10”
Scissors
Glue Gun
Cracker or Cereal Box
Step 2 | Create Template
To help you remember what each section is for, first draw the template onto the foil and then cut it into sections for each are of the body (see sculpture template image).
Or
Go straight to cutting your foil as shown in the sculpture template image.
Step 3 | Create Body Structure
Sculpt the foil to form the structure of the body: arms, head, and legs.
TIP: Squeeze gently as the foil will tear easily.
Step 4 | Form Sculpture
Form your foil people sculptures to look like ballerinas, runners, ninjas or anything you like.
Use a glue gun to glue them onto a piece of cardboard or try to balance it yourself on the ground.

Celebrated as a sculptor, painter, printmaker, and draftsman, Alberto Giacometti’s distinctive figures are some of the most instantly recognizable works of modern art.
Born in 1901, Giacometti expressed an enthusiasm for art from an early age, creating his first oil painting at age just twelve. Although he also worked with paintings, drawings, and designed decorative objects, Mr. Giacometti is most famous for his sculptures, particularly his figures.
