Step 1: Supplies
You’ll need the following:
Construction Paper in Various Colors
Glue
Scissors
Stapler
Marker or Pencil
Step 2 | Create the Base of the Mask
Fold construction paper in half, vertically.
Using a marker or pencil, draw a semi-circle along the full length of the folded paper. Be sure to use as much of the paper width as possible for the forehead but make it in more narrow at the bottom to create the chin.
Cut along the outline and then cut a small slit at the fold of the chin.
Step 3 | Create the Facial Features
Stack 2 small pieces of white paper. You stack them together so that they will be symmetrical to the face.
Cut the stack into a football shape to create the white of the eyes.
Repeat the stacking method with another color of paper to finish the eyes, cheeks, and any other features you want to include. Maybe your mask wear glasses? Use your imagination!!
To create hair curls, take strips of construction paper and tightly wrap it around your pencil or marker. You can also create other textures by folding the paper strips into zig-zag or use textured scissors to make different edges.
Step 4 | Assemble The 3D Mask
It’s a good idea to place all of your features onto the mask to make sure it looks just like you want it.
Once everything is in place, use glue to attach the features securely onto the mask.
After the glue is set, gently fold the chin pieces together so that they overlap each other (on the back side of the mask) and then use the stapler to secure the pieces together.
